PPA Logo
Professional Photographers of America (PPA) has been providing education and community to the photography industry since 1880. Today PPA is the world's largest not-for-profit association for professional photographers, with more than 29,000 members in 54 countries worldwide. It is an association that seeks to strengthen members' business acumen, broaden their creative scope, and advance their careers by providing tools for success. Our CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) certification by the board of the PPA is a recognition of photographic excellence that is held by fewer that 3% of all professional photographers. In 2016 Kevin received his Master of Photography degree; Betty Kay is working toward her degree and expects to complete the requirements soon.

WPPI Logo
Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) was founded in 1980 to better meet the educational needs of wedding photographers. Today, WPPI has grown to be the largest trade show and convention in professional photography. The annual convention in Las Vegas features workshops and seminars led by the country’s leading portrait and wedding photographers. We have personally attended workshops and presentations lead by such well-known photographers as Denis Reggie, Charles Maring, Joe Buissink, Bambi Cantrell and Jerry Ghionis. Perhaps better known would be the clients they have photographed: Caroline Kennedy, Donald Trump, Jennifer Lopez. Learning the techniques of these world-class photographers helped us to develop our own personal style and expertise. WPPI launched it's own certification program in 2015, administered by the New York Institute of Photography. Kevin was one of the first members of WPPI to receive WPPI Certification, and Betty Kay expects to complete hers shortly.

We have been BBB members since 2008 and have consistently maintained the BBB's Gold Star Certification, representing no complaints in the previous three-year period.

In addition to monthly meetings, the chapter focuses annually on local philanthropic initiatives such as involvement efforts in the Annual Network for the Needy. We are active members and were honored in 2014 with the "Best Event Photographer" award, in a blind competition judged by another ISES chapter; in 2010 and 2011 we won a similar distinction. In 2014 one of our weddings was one of three finalists in the International ISES Esprit Awards, held that year in Seattle, WA.
